Reports to: Restaurant/Dining Room Manager

Main objectives: The service of food in a restaurant or dining room.

Typical functions and responsibilities:

  • Set and prepare tables for customers.
  • Welcome guests and escort them to tables.
  • Provide guests with menus and take orders.
  • Sufficient knowledge of courses on the menu to be able to assist guests in making a selection.
  • Deliver food and drinks to tables.
  • Clear away dishes, etc from tables.
  • Attend guests to fulfil any additional requests.
  • Prepare and present bill and receive payment.
  • Polish cutlery and glasses.
